01About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Mohammed S Ali ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on www.askthequran.com (the "Website"), and how you can control them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use personal data.

02What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer or phone. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage in your browser, and pixels or scripts that send information to a server. In this policy we call all of these "cookies".

Cookies set by askthequran.com are "first-party" cookies. Cookies set by other companies whose services appear on our pages, such as Google or YouTube, are "third-party" cookies, and those companies can recognise your device when it visits other websites too.

Under UK law we can only store or read cookies on your device with your consent, unless an exemption applies. We do not ask for consent for:

  • Strictly necessary cookies, which the Website needs to do what you ask, such as keeping you signed in to the AI assistant
  • Cookies that only remember your preferences on the Website, such as your preferred view of the verses, where we tell you about them and you can easily remove them

We only use analytics cookies, advertising cookies and cookies from embedded content after you have agreed to them in our cookie message. You can say no without any effect on your access to the Quran, the audio recitations or the AI assistant.

04Changing your choices

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the "Privacy and cookie settings" link on the Website. Withdrawing consent stops new cookies being set; you can delete cookies that are already stored through your browser settings.
