<h2>Name</h2>
<p><em>At-Talaq</em> is not only the name of this Surah but also the title of its subject matter, for it contains commandments about <em>Talaq</em> (divorce) itself. Hadrat \`Abdullah bin Mas\`ud has described it as <em>Surah an-Nisa al-qusra</em> also, i.e. the shorter Surah an-Nisa.</p>
<h2>Period of Revelation</h2>
<p>Hadrat Abdullah bin Masud has Pointed out, and the internal evidence of the subject matter of the Surah confirms the same, that it must have been sent down after those verses of surah Al-Baqarah in which commandments concerning divorce were given for the first time. Although it is difficult to determine precisely what is its exact date of revelation, yet the traditions in any case indicate that when the people started making errors in understanding the commandments of Surah Al-Baqarah, and practically also they began to commit mistakes, Allah sent down these instructions for their correction.</p>
<h2>Theme and Subject Matter</h2>
<p>In order to understand the commandments of this Surah, it would be useful to refresh one's memory about the instructions which have been given in the Qur'an concerning divorce and the waiting period (<em>Iddat</em>) above.</p>
<p>"Divorce may be pronounced twice; then the wife may either be kept back in fairness or allowed to separate in fairness." (<a href=/2/229>Al Baqarah 229</a>)</p>
<p>"And the divorced women (after the pronouncement of the divorce) must wait for three monthly courses... and their husbands are fully entitled to take them back (as their wives) during this waiting period, if they desire reconciliation." (<a href=/2/228>Al Baqarah 228</a>)</p>
<p>"Then, if the husband divorces his wife (for the third time), she shall not remain lawful for him after this divorce, unless she marries another husband..." (<a href=/2/230>Al Baqarah 230</a>)</p>
<p>"When you marry the believing women, and then divorce them before you have touched them, they do not have to fulfill a waiting period, the completion of which you may demand of them." (<a href=/33/49>Al-Ahzab 49</a>)</p>
<p>"And if those of you who die, leave wives behind, the women should abstain (from marriage) for four months and ten days." (<a href=/2/234>Al Baqarah 234</a>)</p>
<p>The rules prescribed in these verses were as follows:</p>
<ol>
<li>
<p>A man can pronounce at the most three divorces on his wife.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>In case the husband has pronounced one or two divorces he is entitled to keep the woman back as wife within the waiting period and if after the expiry of the waiting period the two desire to re-marry, they can re- marry there is no condition of legalization (<em>tahlil</em>). But if the husband has pronounced three divorces, he forfeits his right to keep her as his wife within the waiting. period, and they cannot re-marry unless the woman re-marries another husband and he subsequently divorces her of his own free will.</p>

<p>The waiting period of the woman, who menstruates and marriage with whom has been consummated, is that she should pass three monthly courses. The waiting period in case of one or two divorces is that the woman is still the legal wife of the husband and he can keep her back as his wife within the waiting period. But if the husband has pronounced three divorces, this waiting period cannot be taken advantage of for the purpose of reconciliation, but it is only meant to restrain the woman from re-marrying another person before it comes to an end.</p>

<p>There is no waiting. period for the woman, marriage with whom has not been consummated, and who is divorced even before she is touched. She can re-marry, if she likes, immediately after the divorce.</p>

<p>The waiting period of the woman whose husband dies, is four months and ten days.</p>

<p>Here, one should understand well that Surah At-Talaq was not sent down to annul any of these rules or amend it, but it was sent down for two purposes;</p>
<p>First, that the man who has been given the right to pronounce divorce should be taught such judicious methods of using this right as do not lead to separation, as far as possible however, if separation does take place, it should only be in case all possibilities of mutual reconciliation have been exhausted. For in the Divine Law provision for divorce has been made only as an unavoidable necessity; otherwise Allah does not approve that the marriage relationship that has been established between a man and a woman should ever break. The Holy Prophet (upon whom be Allah's peace) has said "Allah has not made lawful anything more hateful in His sight than divorce." (Abu Daud). And: "Of all the things permitted by the Law, the most hateful in the sight of Allah is the divorce, (Abu Daud)</p>
<p>The second object was to complement this section of the family law of Islam by supplying answers to the questions that had remained after the revelation of the commandments in Surah Al-Baqarah. So, answers have been supplied to the following questions:What would be the waiting period of the women, marriage with whom has been consummated and who no longer menstruate, or those who have not yet menstruated, in case they are divorced? What would be the waiting period of the woman, who is pregnant, or the woman whose husband dies, if she is divorced?And what arrangements would be made for the maintenance and lodging of the different categories of divorced women, and for the fosterage of the child whose parents have separated on account of a divorce?</p>

Verse by verse

Surah Ash-Shu'ara · The Poets

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. Ayah 1

    بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ طسم

    Tah, Sin, Mim.

  2. Ayah 2

    تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ

    Estes são os versículos do Livro lúcido.

  3. Ayah 3

    لَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ

    É possível que te mortifiques, porque não se tornam fiéis.

  4. Ayah 4

    إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ آيَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَاقُهُمْ لَهَا خَاضِعِينَ

    Se quiséssemos, enviar-lhes-íamos, do céu, um sinal, ante o qual seus pescoços se inclinariam, em humilhação.

  5. Ayah 5

    وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ

    Todavia, não lhes chega nenhuma nova Mensagem (provinda) do Clemente, sem que a desdenhem.

  6. Ayah 6

    فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنبَاءُ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ

    Desmentem-na; porém, bem logo lhes chegarão notícias do que escarnecem!

  7. Ayah 7

    أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ

    Porventura, não têm reparado na terra, em tudo quanto nela fazemos brotar de toda a nobre espécie de casais?

  8. Ayah 8

    إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

    Sabei que nisto há um sinal; porém, a maioria deles não crê.

  9. Ayah 9

    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ

    E em verdade, o teu Senhor é o Poderoso, o Misericordiosíssimo.

  10. Ayah 10

    وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰ أَنِ ائْتِ الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ

    Recorda-te de quando teu Senhor chamou Moisés e lhe disse: Vai ao povo dos iníquos,

  11. Ayah 11

    قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ

    Ao povo do Faraó. Acaso não (Me) temerão?

  12. Ayah 12

    قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ

    Respondeu-Lhe: Ó Senhor meu, em verdade, temo que me desmintam.

  13. Ayah 13

    وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِي وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِي فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَارُونَ

    Meu peito se oprime e minha língua se entrava; envia comigo Aarão (para que me secunde),

  14. Ayah 14

    وَلَهُمْ عَلَيَّ ذَنبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ

    Pois me acusam de crime e temo que me matem.

  15. Ayah 15

    قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَاذْهَبَا بِآيَاتِنَا ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ

    Disse (Deus): De maneira nenhum (farão isso)! Ireis ambos, com os Nossos sinais e estaremos convosco, vigiando.

  16. Ayah 16

    فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَا إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    Ide, pois, ambos, ao Faraó e dizei-lhe: Em verdade, somos mensageiros do Senhor do Universo,

  17. Ayah 17

    أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

    Para que deixes os israelitas partirem conosco.

  18. Ayah 18

    قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ

    (O Faraó) disse (a Moisés): Porventura, não te criamos entre nós, desde criança, e não viveste conosco muitos anos datua vida?

  19. Ayah 19

    وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ الَّتِي فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ

    E, apesar disso, cometeste uma ação (que bem sabes), e por assim fazeres, és um dos tantos ingratos!

  20. Ayah 20

    قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَا إِذًا وَأَنَا مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ

    Moisés lhe disse: Cometi-a quando ainda era um dos tantos extraviados.

  21. Ayah 21

    فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِي رَبِّي حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

    Assim, fugi de vós, porque vos temia; porém, meu Senhor me agraciou com a prudência, e me designou como um dosmensageiros.

  22. Ayah 22

    وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَيَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

    E por esse favor, do qual me exprobras, escravizaste os israelitas?

  23. Ayah 23

    قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    Perguntou-lhe o Faraó: E quem é o Senhor do Universo?

  24. Ayah 24

    قَالَ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ

    Respondeu-lhe: É o Senhor dos céus e da terra, e de tudo quanto há entre ambos, se queres saber.

  25. Ayah 25

    قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ

    O Faraó disse aos presentes: Ouvistes?

  26. Ayah 26

    قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ

    Moisés lhe disse: É teu Senhor e Senhor dos teus primeiros pais!

  27. Ayah 27

    قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ الَّذِي أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ

    Disse (o Faraó): Com certeza, o vosso mensageiro é um energúmeno.

  28. Ayah 28

    قَالَ رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

    (Moisés) disse: É o Senhor do Oriente e do Ocidente, e de tudo quanto existe entre ambos, caso raciocineis!

  29. Ayah 29

    قَالَ لَئِنِ اتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِي لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ الْمَسْجُونِينَ

    Disse-lhe o Faraó: Se adorares a outro deus que não seja eu, far-te-emos prisioneiro!

  30. Ayah 30

    قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَيْءٍ مُّبِينٍ

    Moisés (lhe) disse: Ainda que te apresentasse algo convincente?

  31. Ayah 31

    قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ

    Respondeu-lhe (o Faraó): Apresenta-o, pois, se és um dos verazes!

  32. Ayah 32

    فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ

    Então (Moisés) arrojou o seu cajado, e eis que este se converteu em uma verdadeira serpente.

  33. Ayah 33

    وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاءُ لِلنَّاظِرِينَ

    Logo, estendeu a mão, e eis que apareceu diáfana aos olhos dos espectadores.

  34. Ayah 34

    قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَاحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ

    Disse (o Faraó) aos chefes presentes: Com toda a certeza este é um habilíssimo mago,

  35. Ayah 35

    يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ

    Que pretende expulsar-vos das vossas terras com a sua magia; o que me aconselhais, pois?

  36. Ayah 36

    قَالُوا أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَابْعَثْ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ

    Responderam-lhe: Detém-no, e a seu irmão, e envia recrutadores pelas cidades.

  37. Ayah 37

    يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ

    Que te tragam quanto hábeis magos acharem.

  38. Ayah 38

    فَجُمِعَ السَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ

    E os magos foram convocados para um dia assinalado.

  39. Ayah 39

    وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ

    E foi dito ao povo: Estais reunidos?

  40. Ayah 40

    لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ السَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا هُمُ الْغَالِبِينَ

    Para que sigamos os magos (quanto à religião), se saírem vitoriosos?

  41. Ayah 41

    فَلَمَّا جَاءَ السَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغَالِبِينَ

    E quando chegaram, os magos perguntaram ao Faraó: Poderemos contar com alguma recompensa, se sairmos vitoriosos?

  42. Ayah 42

    قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ

    Respondeu-lhes: Sim; ademais, sereis (colocados em postos) próximos (a mim).

  43. Ayah 43

    قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰ أَلْقُوا مَا أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ

    Moisés lhes ordenou: Arrojai, pois, o que tender a arrojar!

  44. Ayah 44

    فَأَلْقَوْا حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الْغَالِبُونَ

    Arrojaram, portanto, as suas cordas e os seus cajados, e disseram: Pelo poder do Faraó, certamente que nós sairemosvitoriosos!

  45. Ayah 45

    فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ

    Então Moisés arrojou o seu cajado, que se transformou numa serpente e engoliu tudo quanto haviam, antes, simulado.

  46. Ayah 46

    فَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ

    Então os magos caíram prostrados.

  47. Ayah 47

    قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    E exclamaram: Cremos no Senhor do Universo,

  48. Ayah 48

    رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ

    Senhor de Moisés e de Aarão!

  49. Ayah 49

    قَالَ آمَنتُمْ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ الَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

    (O Faraó) lhes disse: Credes nele, sem que eu vos autorize? Com certeza ele é vosso líder, e vos ensinou a magia; porém, logo o sabereis! Sem dúvida, cortar-vos-eis as mão se os pés de cada lados opostos, e vos crucificarei a todos!

  50. Ayah 50

    قَالُوا لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ

    Responderam: Não importa, porque retornaremos ao nosso Senhor!

  51. Ayah 51

    إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَايَانَا أَن كُنَّا أَوَّلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

    Em verdade, esperamos que o nosso Senhor perdoe os nossos pecados, porque agora somos os primeiros fiéis!

  52. Ayah 52

    وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ

    E inspiramos Moisés: Sai com Meus servos durante a noite, porque sereis perseguidos.

  53. Ayah 53

    فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ

    O Faraó enviou, entretanto, recrutadores às cidades,

  54. Ayah 54

    إِنَّ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ

    Dizendo: Certamente, eles são um pequeno bando,

  55. Ayah 55

    وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَائِظُونَ

    Que se tem rebelado contra nós.

  56. Ayah 56

    وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَاذِرُونَ

    E todos nós estamos precavidos!

  57. Ayah 57

    فَأَخْرَجْنَاهُم مِّن جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ

    Assim, Nós os privamos dos jardins e mananciais.

  58. Ayah 58

    وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ

    De tesouros e honráveis posições.

  59. Ayah 59

    كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَاهَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

    Assim foi; e concedemos tudo aquilo aos israelitas.

  60. Ayah 60

    فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ

    E eis que (o Faraó e seu povo) os perseguiram ao nascer do sol.

  61. Ayah 61

    فَلَمَّا تَرَاءَى الْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَابُ مُوسَىٰ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ

    E quando as duas legiões se avistaram, os companheiros de Moisés disseram: Sem dúvida seremos apanhados!

  62. Ayah 62

    قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ

    Moisés lhes respondeu: Qual! Meu Senhor está comigo e me iluminará!

  63. Ayah 63

    فَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ أَنِ اضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ الْبَحْرَ ۖ فَانفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَالطَّوْدِ الْعَظِيمِ

    E inspiramos a Moisés: Golpeia o mar com o teu cajado! E eis que este se dividiu em duas partes, e cada parte ficoucomo uma alta e firme montanha.

  64. Ayah 64

    وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ الْآخَرِينَ

    E fizemos aproximarem-se dali os outros.

  65. Ayah 65

    وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ

    E salvamos Moisés, juntamente com todos os que com ele estavam.

  66. Ayah 66

    ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا الْآخَرِينَ

    Então, afogamos os outros.

  67. Ayah 67

    إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

    Sabei que nisto há um sinal; porém, a maioria deles não crê.

  68. Ayah 68

    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ

    Em verdade, teu Senhor é o Poderoso, o Misericordiosíssimo.

  69. Ayah 69

    وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

    E recita-lhes (ó Mensageiro) a história de Abraão,

  70. Ayah 70

    إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ

    Quando perguntou ao seu pai e ao seu povo: O que adorais?

  71. Ayah 71

    قَالُوا نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَاكِفِينَ

    Responderam-lhe: Adoramos os ídolos, aos quais estamos consagrados.

  72. Ayah 72

    قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ

    Tornou a perguntar: Acaso vos ouvem quando os invocais?

  73. Ayah 73

    أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ

    Ou, por outra, podem beneficiar-vos ou prejudicar-vos?

  74. Ayah 74

    قَالُوا بَلْ وَجَدْنَا آبَاءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ

    Responderam-lhe: Não; porém, assim encontramos a fazer os nossos pais.

  75. Ayah 75

    قَالَ أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ

    Disse-lhes: Porém, reparais, acaso, no que adorais,

  76. Ayah 76

    أَنتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمُ الْأَقْدَمُونَ

    Vós e vossos antepassados?

  77. Ayah 77

    فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّي إِلَّا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    São inimigos para mim, coisa que não acontece com o Senhor do Universo,

  78. Ayah 78

    الَّذِي خَلَقَنِي فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ

    Que me criou e me ilumina.

  79. Ayah 79

    وَالَّذِي هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِ

    Que me dá de comer e beber.

  80. Ayah 80

    وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ

    Que, se eu adoecer, me curará.

  81. Ayah 81

    وَالَّذِي يُمِيتُنِي ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ

    Que me dará a morte e então me ressuscitará.

  82. Ayah 82

    وَالَّذِي أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِي خَطِيئَتِي يَوْمَ الدِّينِ

    E que, espero perdoará as minhas faltas, no Dia do Juízo.

  83. Ayah 83

    رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ

    Ó Senhor meu, concede-me prudência e junta-me aos virtuosos!

  84. Ayah 84

    وَاجْعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ

    Concede-me boa reputação na posteridade.

  85. Ayah 85

    وَاجْعَلْنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيمِ

    Conta-me entre os herdeiros do Jardim do Prazer.

  86. Ayah 86

    وَاغْفِرْ لِأَبِي إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ

    Perdoa meu pai, porque foi um dos extraviados.

  87. Ayah 87

    وَلَا تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ

    E não me aviltes, no dia em que (os homens) forem ressuscitados.

  88. Ayah 88

    يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ

    Dia em que de nada valerão bens ou filhos,

  89. Ayah 89

    إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ

    Salvo para quem comparecer ante Deus com um coração sincero.

  90. Ayah 90

    وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

    E o Paraíso se aproximará dos devotos.

  91. Ayah 91

    وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ

    E o inferno será descoberto para os ímpios.

  92. Ayah 92

    وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ

    Então lhes será dito: Onde estão os que adoráveis,

  93. Ayah 93

    مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ

    Em vez de Deus? Poderão, acaso, socorrer-vos ou socorrem-se a si mesmos?

  94. Ayah 94

    فَكُبْكِبُوا فِيهَا هُمْ وَالْغَاوُونَ

    E serão arrojados nele, juntamente com os sedutores.

  95. Ayah 95

    وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ

    E com todos os exércitos de Lúcifer.

  96. Ayah 96

    قَالُوا وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ

    Quanto, então, dirão, enquanto disputam entre si:

  97. Ayah 97

    تَاللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ

    Por Deus, estávamos em um evidente erro,

  98. Ayah 98

    إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    Quando vos igualávamos ao Senhor do Universo.

  99. Ayah 99

    وَمَا أَضَلَّنَا إِلَّا الْمُجْرِمُونَ

    E os nossos sedutores eram apenas aqueles que estavam afundados em pecados.

  100. Ayah 100

    فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَافِعِينَ

    E não temos intercessor algum,

  101. Ayah 101

    وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ

    Nem amigo íntimo.

  102. Ayah 102

    فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

    Ah, se pudéssemos voltar atrás!, seríamos dos fiéis!

  103. Ayah 103

    إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

    Sabei que nisto há um sinal; porém, a maioria deles não crê.

  104. Ayah 104

    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ

    E em verdade, teu Senhor é o Poderoso, o Misericordiosíssimo.

  105. Ayah 105

    كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

    O povo de Noé rejeitou os mensageiros.

  106. Ayah 106

    إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

    Quando o irmão deles, Noé, lhes disse: Não temeis (a Deus)?

  107. Ayah 107

    إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ

    Em verdade sou para vós um fidedigno mensageiro.

  108. Ayah 108

    فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    Temei, pois, a Deus, e obedecei-me!

  109. Ayah 109

    وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    Não vos exijo, por isso, recompensa alguma, porque a minha recompensa virá do Senhor do Universo.

  110. Ayah 110

    فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    Temei, pois, a Deus, e obedecei-me!

  111. Ayah 111

    قَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَاتَّبَعَكَ الْأَرْذَلُونَ

    Perguntaram-lhe: Como havemos de crer em ti, uma vez que só te segue a plebe?

  112. Ayah 112

    قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِي بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

    Respondeu-lhes: E que sei eu daquilo que fizeram no passado?

  113. Ayah 113

    إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّي ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ

    Em verdade, seu cômputo só incumbe ao meu Senhor, se o compreendeis.

  114. Ayah 114

    وَمَا أَنَا بِطَارِدِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

    Jamais rechaçarei os fiéis,

  115. Ayah 115

    إِنْ أَنَا إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

    Porque não sou mais do que um elucidativo admoestador.

  116. Ayah 116

    قَالُوا لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَا نُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمَرْجُومِينَ

    Disseram-lhe: Se não desistires, ó Noé, contar-te-ás entre os apedrejados.

  117. Ayah 117

    قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي كَذَّبُونِ

    Exclamou: Ó Senhor meu, certamente meu povo me desmente.

  118. Ayah 118

    فَافْتَحْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِي وَمَن مَّعِيَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

    Julga-no eqüitativamente e salva-me, juntamente com os fiéis que estão comigo!

  119. Ayah 119

    فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ

    E o salvamos, juntamente com os que, com ele, apinhavam a arca.

  120. Ayah 120

    ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ الْبَاقِينَ

    Depois, afogamos os demais.

  121. Ayah 121

    إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

    Sabei que nisto há um sinal; porém, a maioria deles não crê.

  122. Ayah 122

    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ

    E em verdade, teu Senhor é o Poderoso, o Misericordiosíssimo.

  123. Ayah 123

    كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

    O povo de Ad rejeitou os mensageiros.

  124. Ayah 124

    إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

    Quando seu irmão, Hud, lhes disse: Não temeis a Deus?

  125. Ayah 125

    إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ

    Sabei que sou, para vós, um fidedigno mensageiro.

  126. Ayah 126

    فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    Temei, pois, a Deus, e obedecei-me!

  127. Ayah 127

    وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    Não vos exijo, por isso, recompensa alguma, porque a minha recompensa virá do Senhor do Universo.

  128. Ayah 128

    أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ آيَةً تَعْبَثُونَ

    Erguestes um marco em cada colina para que vos divertísseis?

  129. Ayah 129

    وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ

    E construístes inexpugnáveis fortalezas como que para eternizar-vos?

  130. Ayah 130

    وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ

    E quando vos esforçais, o fazeis despoticamente?

  131. Ayah 131

    فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    Temei, pois, a Deus, e obedecei-me!

  132. Ayah 132

    وَاتَّقُوا الَّذِي أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ

    E temei a Quem vos cumulou com tudo o que sabeis.

  133. Ayah 133

    أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَامٍ وَبَنِينَ

    E que vos cumulou de gado e filhos,

  134. Ayah 134

    وَجَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ

    De jardins e manaciais.

  135. Ayah 135

    إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

    Em verdade, temo por vós o castigo do dia aziago.

  136. Ayah 136

    قَالُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْنَا أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ الْوَاعِظِينَ

    Responderam-lhe: bem pouco se nos dá que nos exortes ou que não sejas um dos exortadores,

  137. Ayah 137

    إِنْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا خُلُقُ الْأَوَّلِينَ

    Porque isto não é mais do que fábulas dos primitivos.

  138. Ayah 138

    وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

    E jamais serão castigados!

  139. Ayah 139

    فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

    E o desmentiram. Por conseguinte, exterminamo-los. Sabei que nisto há um sinal; porém, a maioria deles não crê.

  140. Ayah 140

    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ

    E, em verdade, teu Senhor é o Poderoso, o Misericordiosíssimo.

  141. Ayah 141

    كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

    O povo de Tamud rejeitou os mensageiros.

  142. Ayah 142

    إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَالِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

    Quando seu irmão, Sáleh, lhes disse: Não temeis a Deus?

  143. Ayah 143

    إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ

    Em verdade, sou para vós um fidedigno mensageiro.

  144. Ayah 144

    فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    Temei, pois, a Deus, e obedecei-me!

  145. Ayah 145

    وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    Não vos exijo, por isso, recompensa alguma, porque a minha recompensa virá do Senhor do Universo.

  146. Ayah 146

    أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِي مَا هَاهُنَا آمِنِينَ

    Sereis, acaso, deixados em segurança com o que tendes aqui,

  147. Ayah 147

    فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ

    Entre jardins e mananciais?

  148. Ayah 148

    وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ

    E semeaduras e tamareiras, cujos ramos estão prestes a quebrar (com o peso dos frutos)?

  149. Ayah 149

    وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَارِهِينَ

    E entalhais habilmente casas (de pedras) nas montanhas.

  150. Ayah 150

    فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    Temei, pois, a Deus, e obedecei-me!

  151. Ayah 151

    وَلَا تُطِيعُوا أَمْرَ الْمُسْرِفِينَ

    E não obedeçais às ordens dos transgressores,

  152. Ayah 152

    الَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ

    Que fazem corrupção na terra e não edificam!

  153. Ayah 153

    قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِينَ

    Disseram-lhe: Certamente és um energúmeno!

  154. Ayah 154

    مَا أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِآيَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ

    Tu não és mais do que um mortal como nós. Apresenta-nos algum sinal, se és um dos verazes.

  155. Ayah 155

    قَالَ هَـٰذِهِ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ

    Respondeu-lhes: Eis aqui uma camela que, em dia determinado, tem direito à água, assim como vós tendes o vossodireito.

  156. Ayah 156

    وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

    Não lhe causeis dano, porque vos açoitará um castigo do dia aziago.

  157. Ayah 157

    فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا نَادِمِينَ

    Porém a esquartejaram, se bem que logo se arrependeram.

  158. Ayah 158

    فَأَخَذَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

    E o castigo os açoitou. Sabei que nisto há um sinal; porém, a maioria deles não crê.

  159. Ayah 159

    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ

    Em verdade, teu Senhor é o Poderoso, o Misericordiosíssimo.

  160. Ayah 160

    كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

    O povo de Lot rejeitou os mensageiros.

  161. Ayah 161

    إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

    Quando o seu irmão, Lot, lhes disse: Não temeis (a Deus)?

  162. Ayah 162

    إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ

    Sabei que sou, para vós, um fidedigno mensageiro.

  163. Ayah 163

    فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    Temei, pois, a Deus, e obedecei-me!

  164. Ayah 164

    وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    Não vos exijo, por isso, recompensa alguma, porque a minha recompensa virá do Senhor do Universo.

  165. Ayah 165

    أَتَأْتُونَ الذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ

    Dentre as criaturas, achais de vos acercar dos varões,

  166. Ayah 166

    وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ

    Deixando de lado o que vosso Senhor criou para vós, para serem vossas esposas? Em verdade, sois um povodepravado!

  167. Ayah 167

    قَالُوا لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَا لُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُخْرَجِينَ

    Disseram-lhe: Se não desistires, Ó Lot, contar-te-ás entre os desterrados!

  168. Ayah 168

    قَالَ إِنِّي لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ الْقَالِينَ

    Asseverou-lhes: Sabei que me indigna a vossa ação!

  169. Ayah 169

    رَبِّ نَجِّنِي وَأَهْلِي مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ

    Ó Senhor meu, livra-me, juntamente com a minha família, de tudo quanto praticam!

  170. Ayah 170

    فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ

    E o livramos, com toda a sua família,

  171. Ayah 171

    إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِي الْغَابِرِينَ

    Exceto uma a anciã, que foi deixada para trás.

  172. Ayah 172

    ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْآخَرِينَ

    Então, destruímos os demais,

  173. Ayah 173

    وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَاءَ مَطَرُ الْمُنذَرِينَ

    E desencadeamos sobre eles um impetuoso torvelinho; e que péssimo foi o torvelinho para os admoestadores (quefizeram pouco caso)!

  174. Ayah 174

    إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

    Sabei que nisto há um sinal; porém, a maioria deles não crê.

  175. Ayah 175

    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ

    E em verdade, teu Senhor é o Poderoso, o Misericordiosíssimo.

  176. Ayah 176

    كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

    Os habitantes da floresta rejeitaram os mensageiros,

  177. Ayah 177

    إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

    Quando Xuaib lhes disse: Não temeis a Deus?

  178. Ayah 178

    إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ

    Sabei que sou, para vós, um fidedigno mensageiro.

  179. Ayah 179

    فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    Temei, pois, a Deus, e obedecei-me.

  180. Ayah 180

    وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    Não vos exijo, por isso, recompensa alguma, porque a minha recompensa virá do Senhor do Universo.

  181. Ayah 181

    أَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُخْسِرِينَ

    Sede leais na medida, e não sejais dos defraudadores.

  182. Ayah 182

    وَزِنُوا بِالْقِسْطَاسِ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ

    E pesai com a balança justa;

  183. Ayah 183

    وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ

    E não defraudeis os humanos em seus bens, e não pratiqueis devassidão na terra, com a intenção de corrompê-la.

  184. Ayah 184

    وَاتَّقُوا الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ وَالْجِبِلَّةَ الْأَوَّلِينَ

    E temei Quem vos criou, assim como criou as primeiras gerações.

  185. Ayah 185

    قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِينَ

    Disseram-lhe: Certamente és um energúmeno!

  186. Ayah 186

    وَمَا أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ

    Não és senão um mortal como nós, e pensamos que és um dos tantos mentirosos.

  187. Ayah 187

    فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ

    Faze, pois, com que caia sobre nós um fragmento dos céus, se és um dos verazes!

  188. Ayah 188

    قَالَ رَبِّي أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

    (Xuaib) lhes disse: Meu Senhor sabe melhor do que ninguém tudo quanto fazeis.

  189. Ayah 189

    فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

    Porém o negaram: por isso os açoitou o castigo do dia da nuvem tenebrosa; em verdade, foi o castigo do diafunesto. Connecting to irc. foznet. com. br

  190. Ayah 190

    إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

    Sabei que nisto há sinal; porém, a maioria deles não crê.

  191. Ayah 191

    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ

    E em verdade, teu Senhor é o Poderoso, o Misericordiosíssimo.

  192. Ayah 192

    وَإِنَّهُ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    Certamente (este Alcorão), é uma revelação do Senhor do Universo.

  193. Ayah 193

    نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوحُ الْأَمِينُ

    Com ele desceu o Espírito Fiel,

  194. Ayah 194

    عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُنذِرِينَ

    Para o teu coração, para que sejas um dos admoestadores,

  195. Ayah 195

    بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيٍّ مُّبِينٍ

    Em elucidativa língua árabe.

  196. Ayah 196

    وَإِنَّهُ لَفِي زُبُرِ الْأَوَّلِينَ

    E, em verdade, está mencionado nos Livros sagrados dos antigos.

  197. Ayah 197

    أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ آيَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُ عُلَمَاءُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

    Não é um sinal para eles, que os doutos entre os israelitas o reconheçam?

  198. Ayah 198

    وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَاهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ الْأَعْجَمِينَ

    E se o houvéssemos revelados a algum dos não árabes,

  199. Ayah 199

    فَقَرَأَهُ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ

    E o houvesse recitado a eles, nele não teriam acreditado.

  200. Ayah 200

    كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَاهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ

    Assim, o infundiremos nos corações dos pecadores;

  201. Ayah 201

    لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ

    Porém, não crerão nele, até que vejam o doloroso castigo,

  202. Ayah 202

    فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

    Que os açoitará subitamente, sem que disso se apercebam.

  203. Ayah 203

    فَيَقُولُوا هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ

    Então dirão: Porventura, não seremos tolerados?

  204. Ayah 204

    أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

    Pretendem, acaso, apressar o Nosso castigo?

  205. Ayah 205

    أَفَرَأَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَاهُمْ سِنِينَ

    Discerne, então: Se os houvéssemos agraciado durante anos,

  206. Ayah 206

    ثُمَّ جَاءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ

    E os açoitasse aquilo que lhes foi prometido,

  207. Ayah 207

    مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يُمَتَّعُونَ

    De nada lhes valeria o que tanto os deleitou!

  208. Ayah 208

    وَمَا أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ

    Não obstante, jamais destruímos cidade alguma, sem que antes tivéssemos enviado admoestadores.

  209. Ayah 209

    ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ

    Como uma advertência, porque nunca fomos injustos.

  210. Ayah 210

    وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ الشَّيَاطِينُ

    E não foram os malignos que o (Alcorão) trouxeram.

  211. Ayah 211

    وَمَا يَنبَغِي لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ

    Porque isso não lhes compete, nem poderiam fazê-lo.

  212. Ayah 212

    إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ

    Posto que lhes está vedado ouvi-lo.

  213. Ayah 213

    فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا آخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُعَذَّبِينَ

    Não invoqueis, portanto, juntamente com Deus, outra divindade, porque te contarás entre os castigados.

  214. Ayah 214

    وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ

    E admoesta os teus parentes mais próximos.

  215. Ayah 215

    وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

    E abaixa as tuas asas para aqueles que te seguirem, dentre os fiéis.

  216. Ayah 216

    فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

    Porém, se te desobedecerem, dize-lhes: Na verdade, estou livre (da responsabilidade) de tudo quanto fazeis!

  217. Ayah 217

    وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى الْعَزِيزِ الرَّحِيمِ

    E encomenda-te ao Poderoso, o Misericordiosíssimo,

  218. Ayah 218

    الَّذِي يَرَاكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ

    Que te vê quando te ergues (para orar),

  219. Ayah 219

    وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِي السَّاجِدِينَ

    Assim como vê os teus movimentos entre os prostrados.

  220. Ayah 220

    إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

    Porque Ele é o Oniouvinte, o Sapientíssimo.

  221. Ayah 221

    هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ الشَّيَاطِينُ

    Quereis que vos inteire sobre quem descerão os demônios?

  222. Ayah 222

    تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ

    Descerão sobre todos os mendazes e pecadores.

  223. Ayah 223

    يُلْقُونَ السَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَاذِبُونَ

    Que dão ouvidos aos satânicos e são, na sua maioria, falazes.

  224. Ayah 224

    وَالشُّعَرَاءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ الْغَاوُونَ

    E os poetas que seguem os insensatos.

  225. Ayah 225

    أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِي كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ

    Não tens reparado em como se confundem quanto a todos os vales?

  226. Ayah 226

    وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ

    E em que dizem o que não fazem?

  227. Ayah 227

    إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَانتَصَرُوا مِن بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ

    (Só não descerão) sobre os fiéis que praticam o bem, mencionam incessantemente Deus, e somente se defendem quandosão atacados iniquamente. Logo saberão os iníquos das vicissitudes que os esperam!

The Quran is the holy scripture of Islam. Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
