This Surah takes its name from vv. 136, 138 and 139 in which some superstitious beliefs of the idolatrous Arabs concerning the lawfulness of some cattle (an`am) and the unlawfulness of some others have been refuted.

Surah Al-An'am · En'âm

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. Ayah 71

    قُلْ أَنَدْعُو مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا وَنُرَدُّ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَانَا اللَّهُ كَالَّذِي اسْتَهْوَتْهُ الشَّيَاطِينُ فِي الْأَرْضِ حَيْرَانَ لَهُ أَصْحَابٌ يَدْعُونَهُ إِلَى الْهُدَى ائْتِنَا ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى اللَّهِ هُوَ الْهُدَىٰ ۖ وَأُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    De ki: Allah'ı bırakıp da bize ne faydaları dokunan, ne zararları erişen şeylere mi ibadet edelim ve Allah bize doğru yolu gösterdikten sonra tekrar geriye mi dönelim, hani Şeytanların şaşırtıp sersem bir halde çöle düşürmek istedikleri adam gibi, halbuki arkadaşları, bize gel diye onu doğru yola çağırıp durmadadır. De ki: Şüphe yok ki Allah'ın gösterdiği yoldur doğru yol ve bize, alemlerin Rabbine teslim olmamız emredildi.

  2. Ayah 72

    وَأَنْ أَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّقُوهُ ۚ وَهُوَ الَّذِي إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ

    Namaz kılın ve Tanrıdan çekinin dendi ve o, öyle bir Tanrıdır ki varıp toplanacağınız yer, onun tapısıdır.

  3. Ayah 73

    وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ وَيَوْمَ يَقُولُ كُن فَيَكُونُ ۚ قَوْلُهُ الْحَقُّ ۚ وَلَهُ الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ ۚ وَهُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْخَبِيرُ

    Öyle bir Tanrıdır ki gökleri ve yeryüzünü, boş yere değil, hikmetiyle ve gerçek olarak yarattı. Ol dediği gün her şey oluverir. Sözü gerçektir ve surun üfürüldüğü gün saltanat ve tasarruf onundur, odur gizliyi de bilen, açıkta olanı da ve odur hüküm ve hikmet sahibi, her şeyden haberdar olan.

  4. Ayah 74

    وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ آزَرَ أَتَتَّخِذُ أَصْنَامًا آلِهَةً ۖ إِنِّي أَرَاكَ وَقَوْمَكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ

    Hani İbrahim, atası Âzer'e, putları mabut mu tanıyorsun demişti, şüphe yok ben, seni de, kavmini de apaçık bir sapıklığa düşmüş görmedeyim.

  5. Ayah 75

    وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُرِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَلَكُوتَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلِيَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُوقِنِينَ

    Biz, gerçek ve şüphesiz bilgiye sahip olması için İbrahim'e, göklerdeki ve yeryüzündeki kudret ve saltanatı, tasarruf ve hikmeti böylece göstermedeydik.

  6. Ayah 76

    فَلَمَّا جَنَّ عَلَيْهِ اللَّيْلُ رَأَىٰ كَوْكَبًا ۖ قَالَ هَـٰذَا رَبِّي ۖ فَلَمَّا أَفَلَ قَالَ لَا أُحِبُّ الْآفِلِينَ

    Gece olup karanlık basınca bir yıldız görmüş de budur Rabbim demişti. Fakat yıldız battı mı demişti ki: Ben batanları sevmem.

  7. Ayah 77

    فَلَمَّا رَأَى الْقَمَرَ بَازِغًا قَالَ هَـٰذَا رَبِّي ۖ فَلَمَّا أَفَلَ قَالَ لَئِن لَّمْ يَهْدِنِي رَبِّي لَأَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الضَّالِّينَ

    Sonra Ayın doğmakta olduğunu görmüş de Rabbim bu demişti. Fakat batınca andolsun ki demişti, Rabbim bana doğru yolu göstermezse sapık kavimden olacağım ben.

Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
