About this Surah

The Surah takes its name from v. 35 in which mention has been made of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham). But it does not mean that it contains the life story of Prophet Abraham. The name is merely a symbol lid the names of many other surahs, i.e., the Surah in which Abraham's mention has been made.

Surah Ibrahim · İbrâhîm

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. Ayah 23

    وَأُدْخِلَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ ۖ تَحِيَّتُهُمْ فِيهَا سَلَامٌ

    İnananlar ve iyi iş işleyenler, kıyılarından ırmaklar akan cennetlere alınırlar, orada, Rablerinin izniyle ebedi kalırlar. Orada birbirlerine iltifatları, esenlik size sözüdür.

  2. Ayah 24

    أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ

    Görmedin mi Allah nasıl örnek getirmede, temiz söz, tertemiz bir ağaca benzer; kökü sabittir, dalları, budakları gökte.

  3. Ayah 25

    تُؤْتِي أُكُلَهَا كُلَّ حِينٍ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهَا ۗ وَيَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ الْأَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

    Meyvesini her zaman verir Rabbinin izniyle ve Allah, düşünüp ibret alsınlar diye insanlara örnekler getirir.

  4. Ayah 26

    وَمَثَلُ كَلِمَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ كَشَجَرَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ اجْتُثَّتْ مِن فَوْقِ الْأَرْضِ مَا لَهَا مِن قَرَارٍ

    Pis söz de pis ağaca benzer; kesilip yerden çıkarılmıştır, duracak hali yoktur onun.

  5. Ayah 27

    يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَيُضِلُّ اللَّهُ الظَّالِمِينَ ۚ وَيَفْعَلُ اللَّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ

    Allah, inananlara dünya yaşayışında da, ahirette de o sabit sözle sebat verir ve zulmedenleri saptırır ve Allah, dilediğini yapar.

  6. Ayah 28

    أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ بَدَّلُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ كُفْرًا وَأَحَلُّوا قَوْمَهُمْ دَارَ الْبَوَارِ

    Görmedin mi Allah'ın nimetini küfre değişenleri ve kavimlerini de sürükleyip helak yurduna konduranları.

  7. Ayah 29

    جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ

    Cehenneme sokanları? Hepsi de oraya gider ve orası, karar edilecek ne kötü yerdir.

About the Quran

The Quran

The Quran is the holy scripture of Islam. Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
