This Surah takes its name from vv. 136, 138 and 139 in which some superstitious beliefs of the idolatrous Arabs concerning the lawfulness of some cattle (an`am) and the unlawfulness of some others have been refuted.

Surah Al-An'am · Boskap

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Verses around 6:7

  1. Ayah 4

    وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ آيَةٍ مِّنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ

    Varje gång ett budskap från deras Herre framförs till dem, drar de sig undan;

  2. Ayah 5

    فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِيهِمْ أَنبَاءُ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ

    och de kallar sanningen för lögn, när den [nu] har kommit till dem. Men [en dag] skall de få veta vad det var som de brukade skämta om.

  3. Ayah 6

    أَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍ مَّكَّنَّاهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَا لَمْ نُمَكِّن لَّكُمْ وَأَرْسَلْنَا السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْهِم مِّدْرَارًا وَجَعَلْنَا الْأَنْهَارَ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهِمْ فَأَهْلَكْنَاهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَأَنشَأْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا آخَرِينَ

    Har de inte sett hur många släkten före dem Vi har låtit gå under, [människor] som Vi hade gett en bättre plats på jorden än Vi har gett er och som Vi [välsignade] med rikliga regn och lät floder rinna upp vid deras fötter? Men för deras synders skull utplånade Vi dem [från jordens yta] och lät ett annat släkte stiga fram efter dem.

  4. Ayah 7

    وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ كِتَابًا فِي قِرْطَاسٍ فَلَمَسُوهُ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ لَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ

    Även om Vi hade försett dig [Muhammad] med en skrift på pergament och förnekarna hade fått röra vid den med sina händer, skulle de ha sagt: "Det är uppenbart ingenting annat än bedrägeri och synvillor!"

  5. Ayah 8

    وَقَالُوا لَوْلَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ ۖ وَلَوْ أَنزَلْنَا مَلَكًا لَّقُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ ثُمَّ لَا يُنظَرُونَ

    Och de säger: "Om ändå en ängel hade sänts ned till honom!" Men om Vi hade sänt en ängel, då hade allt varit fullbordat och de skulle inte ha beviljats något uppskov.

  6. Ayah 9

    وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَاهُ مَلَكًا لَّجَعَلْنَاهُ رَجُلًا وَلَلَبَسْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّا يَلْبِسُونَ

    Och om Vi hade gjort honom till en ängel skulle Vi helt säkert ändå ha gett honom mänsklig gestalt och därmed ytterligare ha ökat deras förvirring.

  7. Ayah 10

    وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ

    [Människorna] har gjort narr av [andra] sändebud före dig, men [till sist] blev dessa upptågsmakare inringade av just det som deras skämt riktade sig mot?

Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
