About this Surah

This Surah comprises several discourses which were revealed on different occasions during the period ranging probably between the end of A.H. 3 and the end of A.H. 4 or the beginning of A.H. 5. Although it is difficult to determine the exact dates of their revelations, yet it is possible to assign to them a fairly correct period with the help of the Commandments and the events mentioned therein and the Traditions concerning them.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Verses around 4:136

  1. Ayah 133

    إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ وَيَأْتِ بِآخَرِينَ ۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ قَدِيرًا

    Om Han ville, kunde Han låta er, människor, försvinna och låta ett nytt släkte uppstå. Gud har makt att göra detta.

  2. Ayah 134

    مَّن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا فَعِندَ اللَّهِ ثَوَابُ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا

    Den som begär sin lön i detta liv [bör tänka på att] Gud belönar både i detta och i det kommande livet. Gud hör allt, ser allt.

  3. Ayah 135

    يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ بِالْقِسْطِ شُهَدَاءَ لِلَّهِ وَلَوْ عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَوِ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْأَقْرَبِينَ ۚ إِن يَكُنْ غَنِيًّا أَوْ فَقِيرًا فَاللَّهُ أَوْلَىٰ بِهِمَا ۖ فَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا الْهَوَىٰ أَن تَعْدِلُوا ۚ وَإِن تَلْوُوا أَوْ تُعْرِضُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا

    TROENDE! Slå vakt om rätten och rättvisan som Guds vittnen, även om det skulle vara till skada för er själva eller era föräldrar och nära anförvanter. Vare sig det gäller en rik man eller en fattig stackare är Gud närmast [att döma] såväl den ene som den andre. Låt därför inte era känslor [för eller emot någon] påverka er; då är det fara att ni avviker [från rättens väg]. Och om ni förvanskar sanningen eller undandrar er [att vittna], är Gud väl underrättad om vad ni gör.

  4. Ayah 136

    يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا آمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَالْكِتَابِ الَّذِي نَزَّلَ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِ وَالْكِتَابِ الَّذِي أَنزَلَ مِن قَبْلُ ۚ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِاللَّهِ وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَالًا بَعِيدًا

    Troende! Håll [fast vid] er tro på Gud och Hans Sändebud och på den Skrift som Han har uppenbarat för Sitt Sändebud och på det som uppenbarades i äldre tid; [tänk på att] den som förnekar Gud och Hans änglar och Hans uppenbarelser och Hans sändebud och Domens dag har drivit synden till dess yttersta gräns.

  5. Ayah 137

    إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا ثُمَّ آمَنُوا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا ثُمَّ ازْدَادُوا كُفْرًا لَّمْ يَكُنِ اللَّهُ لِيَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ وَلَا لِيَهْدِيَهُمْ سَبِيلًا

    De som antar tron och sedan förnekar den, därefter återvänder till tron, sedan [på nytt] förnekar den och slutligen hårdnar i sin förnekelse, dem skall Gud inte förlåta och inte heller leda på rätt väg.

  6. Ayah 138

    بَشِّرِ الْمُنَافِقِينَ بِأَنَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

    Låt dessa hycklare veta att de skall få utstå ett plågsamt straff.

  7. Ayah 139

    الَّذِينَ يَتَّخِذُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۚ أَيَبْتَغُونَ عِندَهُمُ الْعِزَّةَ فَإِنَّ الْعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا

    Hoppas de som tar förnekare till bundsförvanter hellre än troende [att bli mottagna] av dem med ärebetygelser? Nej, all makt och all ära tillkommer Gud.

Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
