About this Surah

It is derived from the sentence idha nudiya-lis-salat-imin-yaum-il- Jumu'ati of verse 9. Although in this Surah injunctions about the Friday congregational Prayer also have been given, yet 'Jumu'ah' is not the title of its subject-matter as a whole, but this name too, like the names of other Surahs, is only a symbolic title.

Surah Al-Mu'minun · The Believers

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Verses around 23:52

  1. Ayah 49

    وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ

    Vi gav Moses skriften, så de kanskje kunne finne ledelse.

  2. Ayah 50

    وَجَعَلْنَا ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُ آيَةً وَآوَيْنَاهُمَا إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ

    Og Vi gjorde Marias sønn og hans mor til et tegn. Vi gav dem tilflukt i en åsside med ro og vann.

  3. Ayah 51

    يَا أَيُّهَا الرُّسُلُ كُلُوا مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحًا ۖ إِنِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ

    «Dere sendebud, spis av det som er godt og rent, og lev rettskaffent! Jeg kjenner til det dere gjør.

  4. Ayah 52

    وَإِنَّ هَـٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاتَّقُونِ

    Dette er deres trossamfunn. Ett samfunn er det! Og Jeg er deres Herre, så frykt Meg.»

  5. Ayah 53

    فَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ

    Men de har splittet opp dette sitt anliggende i sekter, og hver gruppe fryder seg over det de har.

  6. Ayah 54

    فَذَرْهُمْ فِي غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ

    La du dem bero i deres forvirrings avgrunn inntil videre.

  7. Ayah 55

    أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ

    Tror de kanskje at Vi ved det Vi har gitt dem av rikdom og barn

The Quran

Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
