Surah Al-Kahf · The Cave

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. Ayah 76

    قَالَ إِن سَأَلْتُكَ عَن شَيْءٍ بَعْدَهَا فَلَا تُصَاحِبْنِي ۖ قَدْ بَلَغْتَ مِن لَّدُنِّي عُذْرًا

    Da sa Moses: «Om jeg heretter spør deg om noe, så hold ikke følge med meg mer. Du har min unnskyldning.»

  2. Ayah 77

    فَانطَلَقَا حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَتَيَا أَهْلَ قَرْيَةٍ اسْتَطْعَمَا أَهْلَهَا فَأَبَوْا أَن يُضَيِّفُوهُمَا فَوَجَدَا فِيهَا جِدَارًا يُرِيدُ أَن يَنقَضَّ فَأَقَامَهُ ۖ قَالَ لَوْ شِئْتَ لَاتَّخَذْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا

    Så gikk de videre til de kom til noen landsbyboere, som de bad om mat. Men de nektet å yte dem gjestfrihet. Her kom de over en mur som var i ferd med å falle ned, og han rettet den opp. Da sa Moses: «Om du hadde villet, kunne du fått lønn for dette.»

  3. Ayah 78

    قَالَ هَـٰذَا فِرَاقُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنِكَ ۚ سَأُنَبِّئُكَ بِتَأْوِيلِ مَا لَمْ تَسْتَطِع عَّلَيْهِ صَبْرًا

    Men da svarte han: «Dette blir avskjeden mellom oss! Men jeg vil fortelle deg betydningen av det du ikke greide å bære med tålmod.

  4. Ayah 79

    أَمَّا السَّفِينَةُ فَكَانَتْ لِمَسَاكِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ فِي الْبَحْرِ فَأَرَدتُّ أَنْ أَعِيبَهَا وَكَانَ وَرَاءَهُم مَّلِكٌ يَأْخُذُ كُلَّ سَفِينَةٍ غَصْبًا

    Hva fartøyet angår, så tilhørte dette fattige folk, som arbeidet på havet. Jeg ville beskadige det, for en konge var etter dem, som tok alle båter med vold.

  5. Ayah 80

    وَأَمَّا الْغُلَامُ فَكَانَ أَبَوَاهُ مُؤْمِنَيْنِ فَخَشِينَا أَن يُرْهِقَهُمَا طُغْيَانًا وَكُفْرًا

    Hva den unge mann angår, så var hans foreldre troende, og vi fryktet at han ville påføre dem oppsetsighet og vantro.

  6. Ayah 81

    فَأَرَدْنَا أَن يُبْدِلَهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا خَيْرًا مِّنْهُ زَكَاةً وَأَقْرَبَ رُحْمًا

    Og vi ønsket at Herren skulle gi dem en frommere og mer familiekjær sønn i hans sted.

  7. Ayah 82

    وَأَمَّا الْجِدَارُ فَكَانَ لِغُلَامَيْنِ يَتِيمَيْنِ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ وَكَانَ تَحْتَهُ كَنزٌ لَّهُمَا وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَالِحًا فَأَرَادَ رَبُّكَ أَن يَبْلُغَا أَشُدَّهُمَا وَيَسْتَخْرِجَا كَنزَهُمَا رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ وَمَا فَعَلْتُهُ عَنْ أَمْرِي ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَأْوِيلُ مَا لَمْ تَسْطِع عَّلَيْهِ صَبْرًا

    Hva muren angår, så tilhørte den to foreldreløse gutter i byen. Under den var en skatt til dem. Deres far var rettskaffen. Og Herren ville at de skulle nå moden alder, og så grave frem skatten sin som en nådegave fra Herren. Jeg gjorde ikke dette på egen hånd. Dette er betydningen av det du ikke greide å bære med tålmod.»

Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
