Surah Al-Anbya · De Profeten

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. Ayah 1

    بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ

    De tijd nadert, waarop de bewoners van Mekka rekenschap zullen moeten afleggen, en nochtans zijn zij achteloos en hebben zich van de overdenking daarvan afgewend.

  2. Ayah 2

    مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحْدَثٍ إِلَّا اسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ

    Er komt geene waarschuwing tot hen van hunnen Heer, die hun onlangs in den Koran werd geopenbaard, of als zij die hooren, maken zij haar tot een voorwerp van hunnen spot.

  3. Ayah 3

    لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَأَسَرُّوا النَّجْوَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا هَلْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ ۖ أَفَتَأْتُونَ السِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ

    Hunne harten denken slechts aan vermaken. En zij die onrechtvaardig handelen, spreken heimelijk met elkander, zeggende: Is deze Mahomet iets meer dan een mensch gelijk gij? Wilt gij dus naar een tooverij luisteren, terwijl gij duidelijk bemerkt, dat het niets anders is.

  4. Ayah 4

    قَالَ رَبِّي يَعْلَمُ الْقَوْلَ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

    Zeg: Mijn Heer weet wat in den hemel en op aarde wordt gesproken; hij hoort en ziet alles.

  5. Ayah 5

    بَلْ قَالُوا أَضْغَاثُ أَحْلَامٍ بَلِ افْتَرَاهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِآيَةٍ كَمَا أُرْسِلَ الْأَوَّلُونَ

    Maar zij zeggen: De Koran is een weefsel van droomen; hij heeft dien uitgedacht; hij is een dichter; laat hem dus met een wonder tot ons komen, op dezelfde wijze als de vroegere profeten werden gezonden.

  6. Ayah 6

    مَا آمَنَتْ قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا ۖ أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ

    Geene der steden welke wij verdelgd hebben, geloofde de wonderen welke zij voor hunne oogen zagen geschieden. Zullen deze dus gelooven indien zij een wonder zien?

  7. Ayah 7

    وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ ۖ فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

    Wij zonden geene andere gezanten vóór hen, dan menschen, aan welke wij onzen wil openbaarden. Vraag het hun die met de schrift bekend zijn, indien gij dit niet weet.

About the Quran

The Quran

Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
