About this Surah

At-Talaq is not only the name of this Surah but also the title of its subject matter, for it contains commandments about Talaq (divorce) itself. Hadrat `Abdullah bin Mas`ud has described it as Surah an-Nisa al-qusra also, i.e. the shorter Surah an-Nisa.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Verses around 26:189

  1. Ayah 186

    وَمَا أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ

    تو انسانی جز ما نیستی و ما مسلّماً تو را از زمره‌ی دروغگویان می‌دانیم. [[«إِنْ»: حتماً. مسلّماً. مخفّف از مثقّله است. بعضی هم حرف (إِنْ) را نافیه و لام (لَمِن) را به معنی (إِلاّ) می‌دانند.]]

  2. Ayah 187

    فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ

    اگر راست می‌گوئی (که پیغمبری) تکّه‌هائی از آسمان بر سر ما فرو ریز. [[«کِسَفاً»: جمع کِسْفَة، قطعات. تکّه‌ها (نگا: اسراء / 92).]]

  3. Ayah 188

    قَالَ رَبِّي أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

    (شعیب بدیشان) گفت: پروردگار من آگاه‌تر (از هر کسی) از کارهائی است که شما می‌کنید (و معاصی و گناهانی که می‌ورزید. مطمئنّاً عذاب درخور گناهتان را در وقت مقدّر به شما می‌رساند). [[«رَبِّی أَعْلَمُ ...»: این سخن بر نهایت تفویض و توکّل شعیب، و غایت تهدید ایشان دلالت دارد.]]

  4. Ayah 189

    فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

    او را تکذیب کردند و در نتیجه عذاب روزِ ابر ایشان را فرو گرفت (و آتش سوزان آنان را سوزاند). واقعاً عذاب روز بزرگی بود. [[«الظُّلَّةِ»: ابر سایه‌گستر (نگا: اعراف / 171). گویا از شدّت گرما به زیر ابر بزرگی پناهنده شده بودند و ابر بر آنان باران آتش باراند و ایشان را به بدترین وجه سوزاند. «عَذَابَ یَوْمٍ عَظِیمٍ»: (نگا: شعراء / 135 و 156).]]

  5. Ayah 190

    إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

    همانا در این (سرگذشت نیز) درس عبرتی است (برای عاقلان) و بیشتر ایشان (هم) ایمان نیاوردند (و جزای خود را دیدند).

  6. Ayah 191

    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ

    بی‌گمان پروردگارت چیره و مهربان است.

  7. Ayah 192

    وَإِنَّهُ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    این (قرآن) فرو فرستاده‌ی پروردگار جهانیان است (و همه‌ی سرگذشتهای مذکور در آن راست، و احکام آن تا روز قیامت برجا و واجب‌الاجرا است). [[«إِنَّهُ»: همانا قرآن. «تَنزِیلُ»: مصدر است و به معنی اسم مفعول است، یعنی مُنَزَّل و فرو فرستاده (نگا: انعام / 114).]]

Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
