بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. Ayah 68

    قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ ضَيْفِي فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ

    (لوط ترسید که کار ناشایست خود را بکنند. بدیشان) گفت: اینان مهمانان من هستند، (حیاء کنید و با انجام کار ناشایستتان) مرا رسوا مسازید. [[«ضَیْفِی»: (نگا: حجر / 51). «فَلا تَفْضَحُونِ»: مرا رسوا و بدنام مکنید.]]

  2. Ayah 69

    وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ

    و از خدا بترسید و مرا خوار مکنید. [[«لا تُخْزُونِ»: مرا خوار نسازید (نگا: آل‌عمران / 192 و 194، هود / 78).]]

  3. Ayah 70

    قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ

    گفتند: مگر ما تو را از (مهمانداری و پناه‌دادن) مردمان نهی نکردیم (و نگفتیم که حق نداری ما را از کاری که با دیگران می‌کنیم باز داری و به نصیحت و ارشاد ما بپردازی و اگر چنین کنی تو را از میان خود بیرون می‌کنیم؟). [[«أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَکَ؟»: (نگا: شعراء / 167).]]

  4. Ayah 71

    قَالَ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ بَنَاتِي إِن كُنتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ

    گفت: اینها (دختران شهر، همه آماده‌ی ازدواج با مردانند و به منزله‌ی) دختران من هستند، اگر می‌خواهید کاری کنید (و در راه ازدواج و اطفاء شهوات گام بردارید). [[«هؤُلآءِ بَنَاتِی»: (نگا: هود / 78).]]

  5. Ayah 72

    لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

    (ای پیغمبر!) به جان تو سوگند! آنان در مستی (شهوت و جهالت) خود سرگردان بودند. [[«لَعَمْرُکَ»: به زندگی تو سوگند! در اصطلاح فارسی می‌گوئیم: به جان تو سوگند!]]

  6. Ayah 73

    فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ

    پس به هنگام طلوع آفتاب، صدای (وحشتناک صاعقه و زمین لرزه) ایشان را فرو گرفت. [[«الصَّیْحَةُ»: صدا. مراد صدای مهیب صاعقه و زمین‌لرزه است. «مُشْرِقِینَ»: در حالی که به طلوع آفتاب رسیده بودند. حال ضمیر (هم) است.]]

  7. Ayah 74

    فَجَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ

    آن گاه (آنجا را زیر و رو کردیم و) بالای آن را پائین، (و پائین آن را بالا) گرداندیم، و با سنگهائی از گِل متحجّر شده ایشان را سنگباران نمودیم. [[«سَافِل»: پائین. قسمت زیرین. «أَمْطَرْنَا»: باراندیم. «سِجِّیلٍ»: گِل متحجّر شده (نگا: هود / 82، فیل / 4).]]

Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
