This Surah takes its name from vv. 136, 138 and 139 in which some superstitious beliefs of the idolatrous Arabs concerning the lawfulness of some cattle (an`am) and the unlawfulness of some others have been refuted.

Surah Al-An'am · Los Rebaños

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Verses around 6:33

  1. Ayah 30

    وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذْ وُقِفُوا عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ قَالَ أَلَيْسَ هَـٰذَا بِالْحَقِّ ۚ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا ۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

    Si los vieras cuando sean llevados ante su Señor y se les diga: "¿Acaso no es ahora verdad [la Resurrección y el Juicio Final]?" Responderán: "¡Sí, por Dios!" Pero entonces se les dirá: "Sufran el castigo por haber negado la verdad".

  2. Ayah 31

    قَدْ خَسِرَ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِلِقَاءِ اللَّهِ ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَتْهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً قَالُوا يَا حَسْرَتَنَا عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطْنَا فِيهَا وَهُمْ يَحْمِلُونَ أَوْزَارَهُمْ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِمْ ۚ أَلَا سَاءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ

    Los desventurados serán quienes hayan desmentido el encuentro con Dios. Y cuando les llegue por sorpresa la hora [de la Resurrección] dirán: "¡Qué desventurados! ¡Cómo desperdiciamos nuestra vida!" Cargarán con sus pecados sobre sus espaldas. ¡Con que pésima carga irán [al Juicio]!

  3. Ayah 32

    وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ ۖ وَلَلدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

    Esta vida mundanal no es más que juego y disfrute pasajero, pero la otra vida es mejor para los piadosos. ¿Acaso no van a razonar?

  4. Ayah 33

    قَدْ نَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُ لَيَحْزُنُكَ الَّذِي يَقُولُونَ ۖ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ

    Sé muy bien que te apena lo que dicen [sobre ti]. Pero no es a ti a quien desmienten, sino que lo que los injustos rechazan es la palabra de Dios.

  5. Ayah 34

    وَلَقَدْ كُذِّبَتْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَصَبَرُوا عَلَىٰ مَا كُذِّبُوا وَأُوذُوا حَتَّىٰ أَتَاهُمْ نَصْرُنَا ۚ وَلَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ ۚ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَكَ مِن نَّبَإِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

    Antes de ti [también] fueron desmentidos otros Mensajeros. Ellos soportaron con paciencia que los desmintieran y hostigaran hasta que les llegó Mi auxilio. Porque no hay poder que pueda alterar [el cumplimiento de] las promesas de Dios. Te he relatado las historias de los Mensajeros [para consolar tu corazón].

  6. Ayah 35

    وَإِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكَ إِعْرَاضُهُمْ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَن تَبْتَغِيَ نَفَقًا فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوْ سُلَّمًا فِي السَّمَاءِ فَتَأْتِيَهُم بِآيَةٍ ۚ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَمَعَهُمْ عَلَى الْهُدَىٰ ۚ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ

    Te entristece que se nieguen a creer, pues aunque buscaras una entrada a [las profundidades de] la Tierra o una escalera al cielo para traer una señal, no podrías hacerlos creer. Si Dios hubiese querido los habría guiado a todos. No te deprimas a causa de los que no creen.

  7. Ayah 36

    إِنَّمَا يَسْتَجِيبُ الَّذِينَ يَسْمَعُونَ ۘ وَالْمَوْتَىٰ يَبْعَثُهُمُ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ

    Solo responden [a tu llamado] los que escuchan, pero a los muertos [de corazón] Dios los resucitará y ante Él comparecerán.

Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
