About this Surah

In verse 10 of this Surah it has been enjoined that the women who emigrate to dar al-Islam (the Islamic State) and claim to be Muslims, should be examined hence the title Al-Mumtahinah. The word is pronounced both as mumtahinah and as mumtahanah, the meaning according to the first pronunciation being 'the Surah which examines', and according to the second, 'the woman who is examined.'

Surah Taha · Ta-Ha

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Verses around 20:129

  1. Ayah 126

    قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ أَتَتْكَ آيَاتُنَا فَنَسِيتَهَا ۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمَ تُنسَىٰ

    A d Yini: "akken i k id iusan ssekniyen nne£, teppuv iten, akken ara tepwappuv, assa".

  2. Ayah 127

    وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي مَنْ أَسْرَفَ وَلَمْ يُؤْمِن بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِ ۚ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَشَدُّ وَأَبْقَىٰ

    Akka ay Nepqeîîi win izegren tilas, ur numin s issekniyen n Mass is. U, s tidep, aâaqeb n laxeôt iwâaô kteô, u ad idum kteô.

  3. Ayah 128

    أَفَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ الْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِي مَسَاكِنِهِمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّأُولِي النُّهَىٰ

    Day ur ten inha ara wacêal isuta i Nesqucc, uqbel nnsen? La leêêun $ef tnezdu$in nnsen. Deg wayagi, s tidep, d issekniyen i imawlan n ddehn.

  4. Ayah 129

    وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَكَانَ لِزَامًا وَأَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى

    Lemmer ur d izwar ara wawal, s$uô Mass ik, akked lajel ipwassnen, yili, war ccekk, iûaô uâaqeb.

  5. Ayah 130

    فَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا ۖ وَمِنْ آنَاءِ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْ وَأَطْرَافَ النَّهَارِ لَعَلَّكَ تَرْضَىٰ

    Ihi, bibb ayen d qqaôen, sbuccaâ s ccekôan Mass ik, uqbel ad inqeô yiîij, uqbel ad i$li, deg iv. Anez di levôuf n wass, amar fellak aôavi.

  6. Ayah 131

    وَلَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ زَهْرَةَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ ۚ وَرِزْقُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ

    Ur ppara allen ik ar wayen i Nefka i kra n twaculin nnsen. D ajeooig n tmeddurt di ddunit, iwakken a ten Njeôôeb yis. A$iti n Mass ik yif it, u ad idum kteô.

  7. Ayah 132

    وَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَاصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا ۖ لَا نَسْأَلُكَ رِزْقًا ۖ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَ ۗ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ

    Ameô taéallit i twacult ik, êerz ip. Ur ak Nessutur ôôeéq, d Nekwni ara k Iôeéqen. Laâquba d aêezzeb.

About the Quran

The Quran

The Quran is the holy scripture of Islam. Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
