About this Surah

This Surah comprises several discourses which were revealed on different occasions during the period ranging probably between the end of A.H. 3 and the end of A.H. 4 or the beginning of A.H. 5. Although it is difficult to determine the exact dates of their revelations, yet it is possible to assign to them a fairly correct period with the help of the Commandments and the events mentioned therein and the Traditions concerning them.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. Ayah 94

    يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَتَبَيَّنُوا وَلَا تَقُولُوا لِمَنْ أَلْقَىٰ إِلَيْكُمُ السَّلَامَ لَسْتَ مُؤْمِنًا تَبْتَغُونَ عَرَضَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فَعِندَ اللَّهِ مَغَانِمُ كَثِيرَةٌ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ كُنتُم مِّن قَبْلُ فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَبَيَّنُوا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا

    እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ! በአላህ መንገድ (ለመጋደል) በተጓዛችሁ ጊዜ አስረግጡ፡፡ ሰላምታንም ወደናንተ ላቀረበ ሰው የቅርቢቱን ሕይወት ጥቅም የምትፈልጉ ኾናችሁ ምእመን አይደለህም አትበሉ፡፡ አላህም ዘንድ ብዙ ዘረፋዎች አሉ፡፡ ከዚህ በፊት እንደዚሁ ነበራችሁ፡፡ አላህም በእናንተ ላይ ለገሰ ስለዚህ አስተውሉ፡፡ አላህ በምትሠሩት ሁሉ ውስጠ ዐዋቂ ነውና፡፡

  2. Ayah 95

    لَّا يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ غَيْرُ أُولِي الضَّرَرِ وَالْمُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ ۚ فَضَّلَ اللَّهُ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ دَرَجَةً ۚ وَكُلًّا وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ وَفَضَّلَ اللَّهُ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا

    ከምእመናን የጉዳት ባለቤት ከኾኑት በቀር ተቀማጮቹና በአላህ መንገድ በገንዘቦቻቸውና በነፍሶቻቸው የሚታገሉት አይተካከሉም፡፡ በገንዘቦቻቸውና በነፍሶቻቸው የሚታገሉትን አላህ በተቀማጮቹ ላይ በደረጃ አበለጠ፡፡ ለሁሉም አላህ መልካሚቱን (ገነት) ተስፋ ሰጠ፡፡ ታጋዮቹንም በተቀማጮቹ ላይ አላህ በታላቅ ምንዳ አበለጠ፡፡

  3. Ayah 96

    دَرَجَاتٍ مِّنْهُ وَمَغْفِرَةً وَرَحْمَةً ۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

    ከእርሱ ዘንድ በኾኑ ደረጃዎች (አበለጠ)፡፡ ምሕረትንም አደረገ፡፡ እዝነትም አዘነላቸው፡፡ አላህም መሓሪ አዛኝ ነው፡፡

  4. Ayah 97

    إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ ظَالِمِي أَنفُسِهِمْ قَالُوا فِيمَ كُنتُمْ ۖ قَالُوا كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَفِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ قَالُوا أَلَمْ تَكُنْ أَرْضُ اللَّهِ وَاسِعَةً فَتُهَاجِرُوا فِيهَا ۚ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ مَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَسَاءَتْ مَصِيرًا

    እነዚያ (ለእምንት ባለመሰደድ) ነፍሶቻቸውን በዳዮች ኾነው መላእክት (በበድር) የገደሉዋቸው (መላእክት ለነርሱ) «በምን ነገር ላይ ነበራችሁ» አሏቸው፡፡ «በምድር ውስጥ ደካሞች ነበርን» አሉ፡፡ «የአላህ ምድር ትሰደዱባት ዘንድ ሰፊ አልነበረችምን» አሉዋቸው፡፡ እነዚያም መኖሪያቸው ገሀነም ናት፡፡ በመመለሻነትም ከፋች!

  5. Ayah 98

    إِلَّا الْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ وَالْوِلْدَانِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ حِيلَةً وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ سَبِيلًا

    ግን ከወንዶችና ከሴቶች ከሕፃኖችም ሲኾኑ (ለመውጣት) መላን የማይችሉና መንገድንም የማይምመሩ ደካሞች (ቅጣት የለባቸውም)

  6. Ayah 99

    فَأُولَـٰئِكَ عَسَى اللَّهُ أَن يَعْفُوَ عَنْهُمْ ۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًا

    እነዚያም አላህ ከእነርሱ ይቅርታ ሊያደርግ ይሻል፡፡ አላህም ይቅር ባይ መሓሪ ነው፡፡

  7. Ayah 100

    وَمَن يُهَاجِرْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ يَجِدْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُرَاغَمًا كَثِيرًا وَسَعَةً ۚ وَمَن يَخْرُجْ مِن بَيْتِهِ مُهَاجِرًا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ثُمَّ يُدْرِكْهُ الْمَوْتُ فَقَدْ وَقَعَ أَجْرُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

    በአላህም መንገድ የሚሰደድ ሰው በምድር ውስጥ ብዙ መሰደጃንና ምቾትን ያገኛል፡፡ ወደ አላህና ወደ መልክተኛውም ስደተኛ ኾኖ ከቤቱ የሚወጣ ከዚያም (በመንገድ) ሞት የሚያገኘው ሰው ምንዳው በእርግጥ አላህ ዘንድ ተረጋገጠ፡፡ አላህም መሓሪ አዛኝ ነው፡፡

Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
