About this Surah

This Surah comprises several discourses which were revealed on different occasions during the period ranging probably between the end of A.H. 3 and the end of A.H. 4 or the beginning of A.H. 5. Although it is difficult to determine the exact dates of their revelations, yet it is possible to assign to them a fairly correct period with the help of the Commandments and the events mentioned therein and the Traditions concerning them.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. Ayah 73

    وَلَئِنْ أَصَابَكُمْ فَضْلٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ لَيَقُولَنَّ كَأَن لَّمْ تَكُن بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُ مَوَدَّةٌ يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنتُ مَعَهُمْ فَأَفُوزَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا

    ከአላህም የኾነ ችሮታ ቢያገኛችሁ በእናንተና በእርሱ መካከል ፍቅር እንዳልነበረች ሁሉ «ታላቅ ዕድልን አገኝ ዘንድ ከነሱ ጋር በኾንኩ ወይ ምኞቴ!» ይላል፡፡

  2. Ayah 74

    فَلْيُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ الَّذِينَ يَشْرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالْآخِرَةِ ۚ وَمَن يُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَيُقْتَلْ أَوْ يَغْلِبْ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا

    እነዚያም ቅርቧን ሕይወት በመጨረሻይቱ ሕይወት የሚለውጡ በአላህ መንገድ ይጋደሉ፡፡ በአላህም መንገድ የሚጋደል፣ የሚገደልም ወይም የሚያሸንፍ ታላቅ ምንዳን በእርግጥ እንሰጠዋለን፡፡

  3. Ayah 75

    وَمَا لَكُمْ لَا تُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَالْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ وَالْوِلْدَانِ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ هَـٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ الظَّالِمِ أَهْلُهَا وَاجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا وَاجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ نَصِيرًا

    በአላህ መንገድና ከወንዶች ከሴቶችና ከልጆችም የኾኑትን ደካሞች እነዚያን፡- «ጌታችን ሆይ! ከዚች ባለቤቶችዋ በዳይ ከኾኑት ከተማ አውጣን ከአንተም ዘንድ ለእኛ አሳዳሪን አድርግልን ከአንተ ዘንድም ለእኛ ረዳትን አድርግልን» የሚሉትን (ለማዳን) የማትጋደሉት ለእናንተ ምን አላችሁ

  4. Ayah 76

    الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۖ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ الطَّاغُوتِ فَقَاتِلُوا أَوْلِيَاءَ الشَّيْطَانِ ۖ إِنَّ كَيْدَ الشَّيْطَانِ كَانَ ضَعِيفًا

    እነዚያ ያመኑት ሰዎች በአላህ መንገድ ይጋደላሉ፡፡ እነዚያ የካዱትም በጣዖት መንገድ ይጋደላሉ፡፡ የሰይጣንንም ጭፍሮች ተጋደሉ፡፡ የሰይጣን ተንኮል ደካማ ነውና፡፡

  5. Ayah 77

    أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ قِيلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّوا أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقِتَالُ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ النَّاسَ كَخَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ أَوْ أَشَدَّ خَشْيَةً ۚ وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا لِمَ كَتَبْتَ عَلَيْنَا الْقِتَالَ لَوْلَا أَخَّرْتَنَا إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ ۗ قُلْ مَتَاعُ الدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٌ وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنِ اتَّقَىٰ وَلَا تُظْلَمُونَ فَتِيلًا

    ወደእነዚያ ለእነርሱ፡- እጆቻችሁን (ከመጋደል) ሰብስቡ፣ ሶላትንም ደንቡን ጠብቃችሁ ስገዱ፣ ግዴታ ምጽዋትም ስጡ ወደ ተባሉት አላየህምን በእነርሱም ላይ መጋደል በተጻፈ ጊዜ ከእነሱ ከፊሎቹ ወዲያውኑ ሰዎችን አላህን እንደሚፈሩ ወይም የበለጠ ፍራቻን ይፈራሉ፡፡ «ጌታችን ሆይ! በእኛ ላይ መጋደልን ለምን ደነገግክ እስከ ቅርብ ጊዜ ድረስ አታቆየንም ኖሮአልን» ይላሉም፡፡ «የቅርቢቱ ሕይወት ጥቅም አነስተኛ ነው፡፡ መጨረሻይቱም ዓለም አላህን ለሚፈራ ሰው በላጭ ናት፡፡ በተምር ፍሬ ውስጥ ያለን ክር ያህል እንኳ አትበደሉም» በላቸው፡፡

  6. Ayah 78

    أَيْنَمَا تَكُونُوا يُدْرِككُّمُ الْمَوْتُ وَلَوْ كُنتُمْ فِي بُرُوجٍ مُّشَيَّدَةٍ ۗ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ حَسَنَةٌ يَقُولُوا هَـٰذِهِ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَقُولُوا هَـٰذِهِ مِنْ عِندِكَ ۚ قُلْ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ ۖ فَمَالِ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمِ لَا يَكَادُونَ يَفْقَهُونَ حَدِيثًا

    «የትም ስፍራ ብትኾኑ በጠነከሩ ሕንጻዎች ውስጥ ብትኾኑም እንኳ ሞት ያገኛችኋል፡፡ ደግም ነገር ብታገኛቸው ይህች ከአላህ ዘንድ ናት» ይላሉ፡፡ መከራም ብታገኛቸው «ይህቺ ከአንተ ዘንድ ናት» ይላሉ፡፡ «ሁሉም (ደጉም ክፉውም) ከአላህ ዘንድ ነው» በላቸው፡፡ ለእነዚህም ሰዎች ንግግርን ሊረዱ የማይቀርቡት ምን አላቸው

  7. Ayah 79

    مَّا أَصَابَكَ مِنْ حَسَنَةٍ فَمِنَ اللَّهِ ۖ وَمَا أَصَابَكَ مِن سَيِّئَةٍ فَمِن نَّفْسِكَ ۚ وَأَرْسَلْنَاكَ لِلنَّاسِ رَسُولًا ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا

    ከደግ ነገር የሚያገኝህ ከአላህ (ችሮታ) ነው፡፡ ከመከራም የሚደርስብህ ከራስህ (ጥፋት የተነሳ) ነው፡፡ ለሰዎችም ሁሉ መልክተኛ ኾነህ ላክንህ፡፡ መስካሪም በአላህ በቃ፡፡

Meccan Surahs

The Meccan Surahs are the earliest revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They were revealed in Mecca, hence their name. These revelations form the foundation of the Islamic faith and contain guidance for Muslims on how to live their lives. The Meccan Surahs are also notable for their poetic beauty and lyrical prose.

Medinan Surahs

The Medinan Surahs are the later Surahs that, according to Islamic tradition, were revealed in Medina after the Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hijra from Mecca. They were revealed by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) when the Muslim community was larger and more developed, as opposed to their minority position in Mecca.
